In Alabama, 30,000 transformers, 60,000 utility poles and a large number of customers have been mapped with positioning systems.When a customer’s power goes out, system operators can rapidly determine the exact location and nature of the problem.
The electricity network company Vector has introduced a mobile phone and computer system for field crews, which is believed to save half a million € per annum. [1]
