Industrial players of GNSS - Infrastructure manufacturer
The infrastructure provider has the task to design, develop and deploy the GALILEO satellite system, including its ground infrastructure. This is naturally the role of space industry. In Europe, a joint venture of European space primes called GALILEO Industries (EADS Astrium, Alcatel Space, Alenia Spazio, GSS, and Thales) is prepared to take the risk of the infrastructure manufacturing as overall prime, involving numerous SMEs. GALILEO Industries is a good example for an industrial co-operation, that was founded to mitigate the high financial, programmatic and technical risk of a huge programme by sharing it amongst its partners.
