Inexpensive installation
The monthly charges for satellite services are generally $80 to $500, depending on the company, the speed of the connection and the services offered (such as lease/purchase of the equipment, maintenance, guaranteed bandwidth, etc.). The system MOREnet tested has a 36-month rate of $250 for the equipment, installation, maintenance and bandwidth, dropping to $125/month for bandwidth only after the 36-month contract is up. For comparison, a typical T-1 circuit costs $400 to $2,500 per month (depending on the location and type), with MOREnet paying around $500 for a typical circuit. [1]
